MEMORY is an independent artist-driven motion picture company specializing in producing, curating and distributing innovative, thought-provoking works that push the formal boundaries of their medium. Focused on discovering and mentoring new diverse voices, MEMORY creates and showcases these new compositions on and off-line.
Sebastian Pardo and Riel Roch-Decter founded MEMORY at the start of 2014 and together have produced and distributed award-winning fiction and non-fiction films. They have collaborated with multi-hyphenate filmmakers and artists such as: Celia Rowlson-Hall, Carson Mell, Dean Fleischer-Camp, Theo Anthony, Leilah Weinraub, Marnie Ellen Hertzler, Matthew Lessner, Amalia Ulman, DIS, and Zia Anger. Their works have premiered in renowned international festivals such as Venice, Berlinale, Sundance, IFFRotterdam, Locarno, ND/NF, NYFF, TIFF, SXSW, True / False, CPH:DOX, AFI Fest and at prestigious institutions such as MoMA PS1, Tate Modern, MOCA, Gavin Brown Enterprise, ICA Miami, ICA London, Lincoln Center, and the Harvard Film Archive. In 2016 MEMORY was named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Film and in 2020 was awarded the Cinereach Producing Award for their work in “shaping new ways of filmmaking”.
