Les Films du Poisson


Les Films du Poisson is a French film production and distribution company founded in 1994 by Yael Fogiel and Laetitia Gonzalez.​ ​The company's catalogue includes more than a hundred works, shorts and features, series, dramas and documentaries: On Tour, Jellyfish, Lan of Oblivion, Plot 35, Memoir of War, En Thérapie... The first production is a short film, Les Lucioles, directed by Adriana Komives. In 1996, Les Films du Poisson is awarded a grant for young producers by the Hachette Foundation. Selected at the Cannes Film Festival, Madame Jacques sur la croisette, by Emmanuel Finkiel, receives the César for best short film in 1997. Voyages, by the same director, win the 1999 Louis-Delluc Prize for first film before receiving the César for best first film and best editing in 2000. In 2006, Estelle Fialon takes over the production of documentaries. In 2008, Les Films du Poisson is awarded by the Institut pour le Financement du Cinéma et Industries Culturelles Prize for best independent production company. In 2011, the Académie des César awards the Daniel Toscan du Plantier Prize for best producer of the year to Les Films du Poisson. The same year, Yael Fogiel and Laetitia Gonzalez are elected personalities of the year by the French magazine Le Film Français. The same magazine honors Estelle Fialon and Dror Moreh with the Director-Producer Duo Award in 2014 for The Gatekeepers. As a discoverer of new talent, Les Films du Poisson continues to work with directors such as Mathieu Amalric, Eric Caravaca, Emmanuel Finkiel, Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano. In 2021, after six weeks of broadcasting, the series En thérapie became the most viewed series in the history of the website. In 2022, the new season of En thérapie confirms the success of the first. Many works have received numerous awards : At Cannes Film Festival : the Director's Prize, the Caméra d'Or, the Grand Prix de la Semaine de la Critique, the Fipresci Prize; but also the Louis Delluc Prize, several César, an Oscar nomination...
