About

The film distribution company Artcam was founded in 2000 by Artemio Benki , a French producer and director who lived, did business and created in Prague since the early 1990s. Artcam's goal since its beginnings has been to bring bold, revealing and provocative films that expand the horizons of Czech distribution. Artcam thus released films by icons of art cinema such as Jim Jarmusch , David Lynch , Michael Haneke , Lars von Trier , Arnaud Desplechin , Pak Chan-uk , Claire Denis or Pablo Larraín . But it also discovers original faces less known to the Czech audience, such as Céline Sciamma, Philippe Lesage, Héléna Klotz, Deniz Gamze Ergüven, Jayro Bustamante, Apichatpong Weerasethakul and others. In addition to foreign films, Artcam also focuses on work with domestic feature and documentary titles ( Wolf from Královské Vinohrady , Love me if you can do it , Bratříček Karel , Schmitke ). During its history, Artcam presented several films awarded the Palme d'Or at the Cannes festival ( 4 months, 3 weeks, 2 days , Between the walls , Uncle Bunmi , White Ribbon , Love ), as well as those that were awarded in parallel sections of the festival (films Mami ! , White God , One Floor Down , Love from Khon Kaen , Three Memories , Treasure , Inner Sun , Lessons and more). The latest titles presented by Artcam to the Czech audience include the historical romance Portrait of a Girl in Flames , awarded at Cannes, the Oscar-nominated documentaries Země medu and Pro Samu , and last but not least, the feature debut of company founder Artemio Benki Sólo , awarded as the best Czech documentary at MFDF Jihlava. Our goal is to bring unforgettable films to cinemas.
