Det Danske Filminstitut
About
The Danish Film Institute (DFI) is a state institution under the Ministry of Culture. The institute was established in 1972, when it replaced the Film Foundation, with the purpose of administering state support for Danish films. The Danish Film Institute is housed in Filmhuset, a building at Gothersgade 55 in Copenhagen. The building also houses, among other things, the Cinemateket, Library, Videotek, Film-X and Restaurant SULT. The house was inaugurated in 1996, with the first public event being the festival Animani 96. In 2014, the streaming service Filmcentralen opened with short films and documentaries.
