Mile End Films is a film and television production company founded by Jesse Moss and Amanda McBaine. Their work together includes Girls State, Boys State, The Mission, The Overnighters, Mayor Pete and The Bandit, among others.
Girls State premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, and was released globally by Apple on April 5, 2024. The film was nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Documentary, Directing and Cinematography. Moss and McBaine won the 2024 Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Direction and the the film was honored with the Emmy for Outstanding Cinematography.
Boys State received the Sundance Grand Jury Prize, the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Documentary, and the filmmakers were nominated for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Documentary by the Directors Guild of America (DGA). President Barack Obama named the film to his top ten list of 2020. They have twice been shortlisted for the Academy Award for Feature Documentary. The Overnighters received the Sundance Special Jury Prize for Intuitive Filmmaking, and was hailed by many critics as the top documentary of the year.
