The University of Applied Arts Vienna (Universität für angewandte Kunst Wien, known as die Angewandte) is a public arts university in Vienna, Austria, with its main building on Oskar-Kokoschka-Platz. Its institutes cover architecture, design, fine arts and media art, art and technology, conservation, language arts, and studies in art and art education. The Institute of Fine Arts & Media Art includes the departments of Painting and Animated Film, Digital Arts, Photography, Transmedia Art, and Stage and Film Design. In the 2022/23 winter semester the university had about 1,900 students.
