Hungarian Film Incentive
About
The Hungarian Film Incentive is Hungary's indirect film support scheme, launched in 2004. Films and series produced in Hungary, including animation and documentaries, can receive a 30% cash rebate on eligible production spending, extendable to 37.5% by including some non-Hungarian costs. The rebate comes from Hungarian companies that receive corporate tax relief for their support and is guaranteed by the state through a collection account managed by the National Film Institute – Hungary (NFI); productions are registered with the National Film Office. Approved by the European Commission, the scheme has been extended until the end of 2030.
