T.O. WebFest

In the Spring of 2021, WebSeries Canada presents the TOWF9 to support, connect, promote, and celebrate independent content creators from Canada and around the World. TOWF9 & The WebSeries Canada Conference a multi-day conference offering engaging talks, workshops, special events, and awards, online web series screenings, and more! Last year TOWF was proud to introduced Equity and Inclusion Fund and this year we are proud to continue this program. This to ensure that cost is not a barrier for anyone to participate in TOWF9 This fund will provide submission fees to those that may require it and identify as Black, Indigenous or persons of colour. Please contact the EquityFund@WebSeriesCanada.ca The Fund for the Under-Represented in our industry will provide submission fees to TOWF for those that may require it and identify with a Disability or as Women or the LGBTQ2 community. Please contact the EquityFund@WebSeriesCanada.ca SUBMIT YOUR WEB SERIES: New this year we are splitting certain categories and genres between WEBSERIES and SHORT SERIES the reasoning for this is certain categories have overloaded our judges we also feel this will bring a certain amount of fairness back into our awards. First, does your release date qualify Six episodes of your show must be released between January 1, 2020, up until March 1st, 2022, you qualify for TOWF9 Next pick your category: 1. WebSeries 10min or under 2. Short Series 10min to under 15min Not all genres are broken down into web series and short series this is done only once a genre passes 30 submissions. GENRE: BEST DRAMA WEBSERIES 10min or under GENRE: BEST DRAMA SHORT SERIES 10min to under 15min GENRE: BEST COMEDY WEBSERIES 10min or under GENRE: BEST COMEDY SHORT SERIES 10min to under 15min The following genre are not broken up into categories of WebSeries & Short Series they will be judged together in the same genre. We reserve the right to split any category once we have more than 30 submissions. GENRE: BEST DOCUMENTARY & LIFESTYLE GENRE: BEST HORROR & THRILLER GENRE: BEST SCIENCE FICTION & FANTASY GENRE: BEST FAMILY CONTENT & MUSICAL Once you complete your genre picks you will apply to the TOWF craft categories. You are given 3 codes for free as part of your entrance fee, you will be charged $5/$7/$10 for each craft thereafter depending on the time of your submission. Code 1. TOWF9CRAFT1 Code 2. TOWF9CRAFT3 New this year some craft awards are broken down to best Webseries and best short series the reason for this is certain categories have overloaded our judges we feel this will bring a certain amount fairness back to our awards. For a craft category to be split it must have over 20 submissions we reserve the right to split any category at any time under these rules. If your series is selected to be part of the festival you will be sent a google form by email.
