University of Mississippi Film Festival

Submissions are now open for the 2019 UM Film Festival and 1-Minute Film Competition! Join the Department of Theatre & Film for a celebration of cinema at The University of Mississippi. The festival (free and open to the public!) will take place in Fulton Hall on the UM campus in Oxford, MS. The fest kicks off with a block of film screenings beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 11) and continues with workshops throughout the day on Saturday, culminating in another set of screenings beginning at 7 p.m. on Saturday evening. All of the films screened will be shorts created by UM faculty, staff, students and alumni, as well as top-finishing submissions from the festival’s 1-Minute Film Competition, which is the only portion of the festival open to submissions from high-school students. Style-wise, films run the gamut from narrative and documentary to experimental, animation, documentary and music videos. Deadline for all submissions is September 25th.
