9180 Shortfest is an independent short film festival that is a part of Kalotsava - a two day arts festival in Bangalore, India. We at 9180 recognise the emerging aesthetics of short films as a distinct genre of films powered by digital cameras and the internet. We also realise the need for a space in Bangalore where shorts are encouraged, curated and awarded. The moniker '9180' is the short dialing code of Bangalore, a little nod towards all things short and sweet.
The festival is designed for filmmakers and cinephiles alike. There is something for everyone here - stimulating films, passionate discussions and the possibility of enriching connections. This is our third year and we hope to make the festival even more attractive for film lovers from all over.
Starting this year 9180 Shortfest will also have an online chapter, in partnership and with support from Fliqvine. Audiences from around the world will be able to pay and watch all the films as part of the 9180 online film festival. Audience can nominate the best film from the selection of the film.
The most nominated film by audience will win the 9180 Shortfest, Best Film - Audience Choice.
