ANDARAS - Traveling Film Festival

Welcome to the third edition of Andaras Traveling Film Festival, focused on travel, the discovery of the world and its flavours. This is why we started a collaboration with Slow Food, a major international no-profit association committed to give the right value to food, in respect of those who produce, in harmony with the environment and ecosystems, thanks to the knowledge of which they are custodians of territories and local traditions. Our Festival is dedicated to all of those for whom traveling around the world, knowing distant lands and people, is the shortest way to reach oneself. The journey can not be determined by movement alone, by the pure geographic shift from one place to another, because, more than any other human activity; traveling is a mood, a search, a knowledge of oneself and of others, a witness, the starting point of every arrival. Ulysses was traveling, today's migrants are traveling like yesterday's, who goes around the world travels to making a living, solitary navigators and NGO volunteers, journalists and writers, photographers and filmmakers who would want to tell the worlds stories. In the Sardinian language, "Andaras" indicates travel, but also the paths that the shepherds used to travel during the long winter transhumance in search of more lush pastures, the same paths that, since the antiquity, were travelled by the miners. And it is in Sardinia, in Fluminimaggiore and Buggerru, villages of mines, shepherds and fishermen, that the Festival will be held, from 20th to 25th of July, between the sea and the mountains of the South-West coast, the most evocative and wild of the island. The Festival will be divided into six days, each of which is dedicated to the screening of the works in competition, to meetings with filmmakers, writers and photographers, good food and good music. There are seven different categories in the competition: 1. “Super Shorts” Short films both fiction or documentary, of a maximum duration of 180 seconds; 2. “Docu-Shorts” Non-fiction short films, of a maximum duration of 30 minutes; 3. “Narrative Shorts” Dedicated to fiction short films, of a maximum duration of 20 minutes 4. "Gazes from the World" dedicated to experimental, fiction and documentary short films, not strictly connected with others categories, of a maximum duration of 15 minutes. 5. “Animation” Animated short films, of a maximum duration of 15 minutes. “SPECIAL SLOW FOOD CATEGORIES” 6. “Narrative Short Food” Dedicated to fiction short films, food-themed, of a maximum duration of 20 minutes; 7. “Docu-Short Food” Non-fiction short films, food-themed, of a maximum duration of 30 minutes. The works sent must have the theme “the trip” or “the world of food”, expressed in any of their many facets. The jury is composed of members appointed by the Festival management, chosen from national and international experts.
