An Ordinary Day Film Festival is a non-profit showcase of experimental moving image at Studio 44, an artist-run gallery on Södermalm in Stockholm. Founded in 2017 and curated by artists from the gallery, it selects animation, documentary, narrative and hybrid works made for aesthetic and philosophical rather than commercial reasons, favouring films that break habitual ways of watching. Short works from Sweden and abroad are shown, and since 2023 the selection has been compact: a small programme of short films and videos presented as a gallery exhibition rather than in cinema sessions.

The 2026 edition is an exhibition at Studio 44 from 17 April to 3 May 2026, with an evening on 24 April hosted by Gstaadfilm, a Swiss festival of short films by artists.

Festival rules

Open to artists and producers from all over the world. Audiovisual works up to 10 minutes long are accepted. There is no restriction on when the work was made. Works with voice or text in a language other than English need English subtitles. The festival may use stills and excerpts of selected works for promotion.
