Bali International Film Festival

Bali International Film Festival (aka Balinale) is the largest and oldest annual international film event in Indonesia. Held on the paradise island of Bali, Balinale attracts a diverse audience of film-goers with its outstanding selection of independent local and international movies, many with filmmakers in attendance. Balinale is celebrating its 14th anniversary in 2021 Film submissions from all genres of fiction and documentary, feature length and short, from Indonesia and around the world are accepted for consideration. Balinale has a juried competition with Awards presented in several artistic and technical categories for Feature, Documentary and Short films. Balinale is dedicated to support local filmmakers by waiving submission fees for Indonesian Nationals (WNI) giving them the opportunity to show their films to an international audience, attend workshops and meet filmmakers from all over the world. Indonesian Nationals can submit for free using the WNI category, if encountering any problems you can request a waiver at www.balinale.com/idn-waivers The annual Balinale holds a number of workshops and seminars for film students & enthusiasts, and the ‘BalinaleX Industry Forum’ for film & television industry professionals.
