Big Spring Film Festival

The first annual Big Spring Film Festival will be held in downtown Big Spring with live screenings at the historic Municipal Auditorium! It will be 2 days and 3 nights of films, after parties and amazing networking opportunities. The Big Spring Film Society began as a way to bring people in the Howard County area together who loved the movies. We knew that by screening some of our favorite movies from the past 30 years in cool outdoor spaces in Big Spring, we would find some like minded people who were passionate about the world of cinema. For years we screened some of the biggest films from the 1980's - ET: The Extra Terrestrial, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Goonies, Back to the Future, The Dark Crystal, Batman and many more. Reintroducing some people to the movies from their youth and inspiring a whole other generation of movie lovers. From the very beginning there were plans to have a film festival in Big Spring, we just weren't sure how and where we could pull one off. Then as downtown Big Spring began the metamorphosis it is still currently in the middle of, with the encouragement of Convention and Visitors Bureau, we decided the time for a film festival had finally arrived. Using the historical Big Spring Municipal Auditorium as our theater and the Hotel Settles has a base for filmmakers and film lovers alike; The Big Spring Film Society is now the Big Spring Film Festival. It took some years, but the dream is finally becoming a reality.......
