1st Annual BIPOC International Film Festival Toronto, Ontario, Canada Come celebrate emerging voices in BIPOC film and media this December at the first annual BIPOC International Film Festival, experience a wide array of acclaimed films and engage in socially relevant discussion around representation in media. Canin Cultural Council will be hosting Canada’s first ever BIPOC International Film Festival (BIFF). Happening on December 18 and 19, at the Carlton Cinemas, downtown Toronto, BIFF will showcase films by emerging and established Canadian and International Filmmakers from the BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Colour) community. BIFF carves out a space specifically for BIPOC people in filmmaking to showcase their work and receive the recognition and acknowledgement they deserve. The festival allows for BIPOC filmmakers to have their films received and appreciated by a wider audience than they perhaps have had access to previously due to various social barriers within the film industry.
