We tell strong stories from filmmakers all over the world. With a focus on screening international and national films right along side Bloomington and Indiana filmmakers. Bloomington Indiana has a rich film industry. The Academy Award winning film Breaking Away was released in 1979. Since then Bloomington has been the leading movie making city in the state and region. While Bloomington is a small town the optimistic and communal values of the residents carries into films. Indiana University has educated some extremely influential Hollywood Hoosiers. BIFF revenue goes directly into the BIFF Film Gund that supplies grants to Bloomington and Hoosier filmmakers.
