Last year's edition of course was in 2020, a year like no other where we became a part of Nightstream and we welcomed more films, filmmakers and ticket holders than ever before - virtually. This year Brooklyn Horror Film Festival returns October 14-21, 2021. Our plans are to hold an in-person festival, however plans for a virtual component or a pivot to virtual will be determined later in the year - but either way - Brooklyn Horror is back in October 2021!
The festival is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Gunpowder & Sky’s recently launched horror brand, ALTER. Selected short films will be eligible for review for distribution on the platform.
Stretching eight days, the festival will offer the bulk of its screening and events on the weekend, while the weekday schedule will be lighter.
The festival will also continue with our annual HEAD TRIP shorts program, which previously was expanded into a feature film sidebar spotlighting films that push the boundaries and expectations of the horror genre.
