2025
Launched in 1992 as an ‘Underground/Student Mini-Fest” by filmmaker Gregg Hale (Producer of The Blair Witch Project), the "Brouhaha Film & Video Showcase” has become one of the premier outlets for Florida produced films and videos, featuring the best work from film schools and independent filmmakers statewide, and a fun-filled gathering for lovers of independent film.
Since its inception, Brouhaha has featured student and independent projects by future Oscar® winners Barry Jenkins (Moonlight) and Pixar animator Patrick Osborne (Feast), as well 14 films that were awarded the Student Oscar. Other notable alumni include Ben Rock (Alien Raiders), Bob DeRosa (Killers/The Air I Breathe), Sam Beam (Iron & Wine), Todd Thompson (Woman in Motion), Xander Robin (Are We Not Cats) and experimental filmmaker Roger Beebe.
Held each fall at the Enzian Theater in Maitland (Orlando), Florida, audiences are made up of filmmakers, film educators, local production representatives, industry organization members, and the general public, all fascinated by the scope and creativity of films screened each year representing the entire spectrum of Florida’s immense talent pool.
The Brouhaha Film & Video Showcase is a presentation of the Florida Film Festival and Enzian Theater and sponsored by Full Sail University
