The Buenos Aires Running Film Festival is the first film festival in Latin America dedicated to running. It counts with an international competitive feature and short film exhibition involving running and triathlon around the world. There are also conferences, seminars and activities directed by professionals who are involved in different aspects of running and filmmaking. Our mission is to capture the essence of running. By sharing the stories of committed runners, be that trail, street, mountain, long distance, sprint or amateur, we aim to unravel the mystery what keeps us running. Our reasons may be different, but our motivation is often the same: to keep on doing it. Achieving this goal may be full of glory, disaster or even humor. One film may describe how an athlete won a 100K race in memory of his late father, while another may illustrate the hardship of a woman trying to loose weight after giving birth, or the ordinary challenges we all have to deal with, such as dodging random manure, season allergies, and our inner voice that sometimes pleads “not today”. Why do you run? How did it all start? Who were you before this? Who inspired you to start running? Who do you wish to become? Is there a special race you are preparing for? What do you think about while you train? There is a life-changing story in every runner yearning to be told. We hope to inspire people from all walks of life, as well as provide an opportunity for filmmakers and athletes to connect with local audiences and visitors drawn to an area that’s a tourist destination in its own right.
