CINENOVA Interuniversity Film Festival

CINENOVA is the first and only international university film festival in Portugal. It is an iniciative of NOVA FCSH and focuses on the relationship between Cinema and Knowledge. Organized by university students and teachers, CINENOVA is aimed at all students of Higher Education, despite any level or area of study. Its main objective is to deepen the relationship between Cinema and Knowledge, between the Student-Filmmaker and the University. The festival takes place in Lisbon, at NOVA FCSH, and lasts for 3 days, preceded by an Opening Ceremony at the Portuguese Cinematheque. During the 3 days, the films selected for competition are shown. In parallel, other activities are promoted such as Masterclasses and Debates with relevant guests in the field of Cinema, within and beyond the national panorama. On the last day of the festival, there are two prizes for the winning films: Best Film Award (2.000 euros) and Best Portuguese Film Award (1.000 euros). All activities and film screening sessions are free of charge. Likewise, all directors can submit their films at no cost.
