Cranford Film Festival

The Cranford Film Festival will be held in person on April 30, 2022 (watch our website cranfordfilmfestival.org for updated information) and virtually from April 23-May 7, 2022 due to festival goers requests as well as ongoing safety precautions. As the festival will be going virtual as well as in-person in 2022 festival goers have the opportunity to watch the best in worldwide short films from their homes or in person. Festival Director Lew Goldstein said: “We are appreciative of the community support for this festival given the success of our inaugural festival last year. As a matter of overall public health and safety we will continue to monitor health updates on the COVID-19 virus during the upcoming months. We hope to be able to gather indoors in the Spring of 2022 after people receive their full vaccinations and are again comfortable in an inside setting." Stay healthy everyone! -------- The festival focuses on screening short films ( less than 20 minutes in length) in the categories of fiction, documentary, animation, music videos and student films. Best of Festival awards are given in each of the categories and festival goers will be able to virtually watch and listen to each of the filmmakers explain their films during the festival. Filmmakers will be notified as to whether or not their films will be screened as official selections at the festival after the review of all films by a panel of judges concludes. Award winners will be notified after the conclusion of the festival. The Best of Fest award recipients, as judged by the those virtually attending the Festival, in each of the five categories will receive recognition for their achievements. The Cranford Couger award is a judges award give separately to films which conveyed the message of their film in a superior manner. Recipients of this special award will also be able to access a laurel after the Fest on FilmFreeway. The final schedule of films that will be shown will be posted by early April.
