Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) Update and information The Curitiba International Cinema and Human Rights Film Festival is scheduled to take place as planned April 16-22 and here’s an update on the current situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Curitiba -Brazil. Health and safety officials here in Curitiba have requested the postponement of any gatherings. With the evolving nature of the COVID-19 situation, Curitiba International Cinema and Human Rights Film Festival will continue to follow guidelines from government agencies and our public health partners. ATTENTION - NEW DATES: SUBMISSIONS: June 30, 2020 NOTIFICATION: July 31, 2020 EVENT DATE: August 13 - 19, 2020 Curitiba International Cinema and Human Rights Film Festival is an initiative of the producers companies Moinhos de Vento Filmes and Extremum Produções Culturais with partnerships and support from Fundo Municipal da Cultura, Programa de Apoio e Incentivo à Cultura, FCC – Fundação Cultural de Curitiba, Prefeitura Municipal de Curitiba, UFPR – Universidade Federal do Paraná, PROEC - Pró-Reitoria de Extensão e Cultura da UFPR, UTFPR – Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná, Cine Passeio, SESC – Serviço Social do Comércio, Non-governmental Organization, to supply suppressed cultural, cinematographic and human rights demands in the city of Curitiba. It appears to fill a gap left by the extinction of the Ministry of Culture, and by the discontinuity of federal cultural programs and to offer the community and the public of the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba a cultural alternative that aims to educate, discuss, promote and disseminate the theme of Human Rights from the perspective of filmmaking.
