Docudays UA International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival presents creative documentaries that reveal ethical and legal problems through artistic means. It is organised in Kyiv by the NGO Docudays together with the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union and partner organisations, with the stated aim of promoting human rights and dignity, civic activity and the development of documentary filmmaking in Ukraine. The competition has three sections: DOCU/WORLD for documentaries longer than 40 minutes, DOCU/SHORT for films up to 40 minutes, and the national DOCU/UKRAINE. Up to ten films from the whole programme are nominated for the RIGHTS NOW! award. A central theme chosen each year shapes the non-competition programmes, alongside strands such as DOCU/BEST, DOCU/ART and DOCU/YOUTH.

The festival is a member of the International Human Rights Film Network and Documentary Association Europe. After Kyiv, selected films tour the regions of Ukraine as the Docudays UA Travelling Festival. Since the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022, the festival has moved from its traditional March dates to June. The 24th edition takes place in Kyiv on 4–11 June 2027.
