After the great success of the ERNTE SEHEN Filmfestival 2020, we decided to open our platform again for submissions for the new edition of ERNTE SEHEN Filmfestival 2021. Last year, Antonia Manhartsberger was able to get all the jury votes and win not only the festival, but the 300€ price money as well as a unique handmade trophy by Lungau based artist Simon Angermann. About the festival 2021: On August 7th, 2021, artists and filmmakers will meet up in the heart of the Murtal Valley in Austria where the ERNTE SEHEN short film festival will take place. ERNTE is an organisation founded in 2018 with the goal of promoting urban music culture. In the same year the ERNTE music festival came into being, for which the cultural association GRIESSNER STADL in Stadl an der Mur provided its extensive area of land. In 2020 and 2021 we decided to set the focus of the ERNTE 2021 on a different medium. As part of “ERNTE SEHEN”, the ERNTE will take place as a film festival for the second time. We are looking for films that don’t exceed a maximum length of 10 minutes, but there are no thematic restrictions. The films will be shown on the already existing outdoor stage and will be streamed on the festival website. This allows us to open the festival for a number of guests on site, as well as for a wider audience online. This year the festival is influenced by a range of works by students from all over the world. Out of more than 70 submissions a programme has been curated under the theme: "Woran glaubst du / What do you believe in" The jury, consisting of - Anita Winkler & Ferdinand Nagele (Griessner Stadl) - Anna Fuchsberger (Kaze Elza) - Manuel Hüttner (Director) - Antonia Manhartsberger (Last Year's Winner) will elect the winning film and will present the prize of €300,-. This year there will also be the addition of an audience award that will take place online and irl. Digital, Super 8 and 16mm films will be shown. A team of hosts will lead through the event and will conduct Q&As with the artists on stage or over live chat. The resulting interaction with filmmakers and artists from all over the world is a way for us to present the ERNTE to an international audience. The selected filmmakers will be invited to participate in the festival, either in person or via internet, and questions from the audience will be answered via our festival chat or live on stage. The winning film will be selected at the end of the festival. The ERNTE SEHEN film festival, as a re-interpretation, should show that times of crisis can also be food for thought, inspiring new ideas. The rules must first be seen in order to be broken. ERNTE gut, Alles gut.
