History, biography and lived experience shape the selection at Factual Animation Film Festival (FAFF). Films qualify through a factual basis and a substantial, integral use of animation; the festival accepts any animation technique or subject. Its history dates back to Holly Murtha's initiative in 2014. Physical screenings, typically in London and Berlin, online editions and guest programmes at other festivals give the selected shorts different routes to audiences. Filmmaker discussions and separate jury awards for best film and best student film accompany the physical events.
The 2026 Berlin programme forms part of Festival of Animation Berlin at silent green Kulturquartier on 10 October 2026.
