The Fayette Youth Film Festival will celebrate and embrace all we admire in our youth’s creativity, individuality, and talent. This event will showcase young filmmakers that have a positive message or unique viewpoint through this year’s theme, My Reality. Through short films made by youth, we aim to educate and inspire our audience.
Our festival will showcase short films made by youth in animation, live-action, and documentary. Local filmmakers will have a special category. The festival will not only showcase amazing films, but it will also offer filmmaking workshops, and drop-in activities as well as a chance to interact with industry professionals. Youth will learn about directing, cinematography, screen writing, and the industry at large. Space for these events in limited. All finalist filmmakers will have the full Red Carpet Experience.
Most importantly, this is a non-for-profit event, with all proceeds going to fund the I Am Foundation, an organization aimed at empowering girls and guys to become leaders.
Films can be about anything, as long as they are made by youth. As a special feature, we will also showcase those short films that exemplify #myreality. These films can be full of humor and fantasy, but we are looking for unique viewpoints from young adults. Documentaries are welcome, but not the only way to tackle this topic. We love films that are humorous, adventurous, and down-right entertaining. So get filming!
