A disparity of any kind is caused by lack of opportunity. Along with its partners, Audience Awards is doing its part in providing opportunities to women filmmakers worldwide. As Directors UK’s 2016 report says, “By shutting out entire segments of society, we exclude unique voices and limit the scope of our culture as a whole.” We would like to include those voices and expand the scope of our entire culture. Audience Awards is a platform created by female filmmakers. As women, we know what it takes to get a leg up in this industry and we work every day to help make your film dreams come true.
The Challenge: Female filmmakers are invited to submit short fiction or nonfiction films, 7 minutes or under, to gain exposure and prizes to accelerate your careers. The top films are juried by industry professionals and premiere at Audience Awards Film Festival in LA, June 2018.
The Women’s Film Challenge Mission:
To exalt female-driven stories and the work of women in film
To promote and engage audiences to support female filmmakers
To encourage emerging talent to continue to create

editors and producers in this industry
