Festival del Cinema dei Diritti Umani di Napoli

ITALIAN (English below) La Tredicesima Edizione del Festival del Cinema dei Diritti Umani di Napoli intitolata “PERSECUTED - Vite negate dagli abusi di potere” si svolgerà dal 10 al 20 Novembre 2021 nell’area urbana della Città di Napoli in modalità ibrida (on line e in presenza). Il Festival, come sempre, è organizzato dal suo Direttivo composto da esperti e membri di associazioni che sostengono la manifestazione sin dalla sua fondazione, nel 2008, prima fra tutti l’Associazione culturale “Cinema e Diritti”, che ha fondato il Festival e ne cura il coordinamento e la promozione. Il nostro Festival porta il dibattito sui Diritti Umani tra i giovani e la gente comune, nelle periferie e nei luoghi dove il disagio e l’emarginazione sono più avvertiti; per questo il nostro slogan esprime in una battuta, “il cinema dalle gambe lunghe”, la voglia di incontrare la gente che troppo spesso viene esclusa dai circuiti informativi e culturali dei grandi mezzi di informazione. Sono questi i luoghi in cui è più urgente contrastare, con le immagini, l’informazione e il dibattito, le tendenze devianti della criminalità e l’attrazione che essa può esercitare sulle categorie giovanili, offrendo orizzonti di nuova cittadinanza e opportunità, emozioni e prospettive più ampie di quelle proposte dall’informazione pubblica. Di questo percorso saranno parte integrante le carceri, i centri sociali e i luoghi dove risiedono i migranti, ospiti nei centri di accoglienza o impegnati nel lavoro stagionale. Questa edizione è dedicata a tutte le persone perseguitate, in nome di una legalità che non sempre vuol dire “giustizia”, nei propri Paesi di origine, in territori occupati da altri, in quelli devastati in nome di un modello di sviluppo insostenibile che distrugge le risorse naturali del pianeta e ipoteca la salvezza delle future generazioni, nel viaggio o all’arrivo in terre straniere, immaginate come ospitali e invece protette da barriere sempre meno valicabili. Il Festival ufficiale del 2021 si articolerà in un concorso cinematografico e in una serie di incontri e dibattiti nei quali, attraverso proiezioni di film fuori concorso e il dialogo tra testimoni ed esperti con il pubblico, verranno approfonditi alcuni argomenti inerenti ai Diritti Umani. Il concorso cinematografico della XIII edizione del Festival del Cinema dei Diritti Umani di Napoli 2021 è, come sempre, aperto a tutti i film che trattano ogni argomento di Diritti Umani e offrirà una qualificata selezione di cortometraggi e lungometraggi, ma anche opere di animazione e filmati rivolti al pubblico minore e giovanile, assegnando riconoscimenti per le opere più coraggiose e innovative (Premio Vittorio Arrigoni) e affidando a giurie giovanili, studentesche o popolari, il compito di segnalare film di particolare impatto a cui verrà assicurata la diffusione nei circuiti specializzati e nelle scuole ed università collegate ai nostri circuiti. Questa edizione sarà condizionata dalle misure di sicurezza e dalle limitazioni imposte dalla pandemia dovuta al diffondersi del virus Covid 19 e pertanto l’organizzazione del Festival si scusa sin da ora con gli autori e gli ospiti della manifestazione per i disagi che potranno derivare alla proiezione dei film e alla organizzazione delle giornate in conseguenza di questa situazione eccezionale. LE PROIEZIONI DEI FILM IN CONCORSO SI SVOLGERANNO IN MODALITA' ONLINE ENGLISH VERSION The Thirteenth Edition of the Naples Human Rights Film Festival entitled "Persecuted” will take place from November 10-12, 2021 in the city of Naples as both an online and in-person event. The Festival is organized by its Executive Board composed of experts and members of associations which have supported the event since its foundation in 2008, in first place the Cultural Association "Cinema e Diritti", which founded and coordinates the Festival and its promotion. Our Festival brings the debate on Human Rights between young people and ordinary people, in the suburbs and in places where discomfort and marginalization are most felt; this is why our slogan expresses, in a joke, "the cinema with long legs", the desire to meet people who are too often excluded from the information and cultural circuits of the great media. These are the places where it is most urgent to contrast, with images, information and debate, the deviant tendencies of crime and the attraction it can exert on youth categories, offering horizons of new citizenship and opportunities, emotions and prospects wider than those proposed by public information. Prisons, social centers and hospitals, places where migrants reside, guests in reception centers or engaged in seasonal work will be an integral part of this process. The official Festival of 2021 will consist of a film competition and a series of meetings and debates in which, through screenings of out-of-competition films and the dialogue between witnesses and experts with the public, some topics related to Human Rights will be explored. The XIII Naples Human Rights Cinema Festival 2021 is dedicated to exposing this phenomenon of a relentless, barely recognizable form of justice, and to all human beings persecuted by systems of power that impoverish and discriminate against people for ethnic, religious and cultural reasons, or on the basis of gender etc. As always, the competition is open to all films that deal with any topic related to human rights. The international film competition will offer a qualified selection of short films and feature films, but also animation and films aimed at younger audiences, awarding awards for the most courageous and innovative works (Vittorio Arrigoni Award) and entrusting them to youth, student or popular juries, the task of reporting films of particular impact which will be ensured in the specialized circuits and in schools and universities connected to our circuits. This edition will be conditioned by the security measures and by the limitations imposed by the pandemic due to the spread of the Covid 19 virus and therefore the organization of the Festival apologizes from the start to the authors and guests of the event for the inconveniences that may result from the screening of films and the organization of the days as a consequence of this exceptional situation.
