The Human Rights International Film Festival will be held in all main regions of Moldova: Chisinau (Center), Balti (North), Cahul (South), Comrat (UTA Gagauzia) and Tiraspol (Transnistria) and in other 20 villages in order to target the Moldovan audience as much as possible. The Festival will be opened to authors of audiovisual works (art, documentaries and short films) from Moldova, countries of Eastern Europe or other countries of the world and to Moldovan journalists who will describe the most frequent human rights violations with a look to the relevant human rights problems for Moldova, as well as to all possible solutions and best practices in the field.
The audiovisual works to be screened at the Festival will be viewed and selected by a Committee composed of experts who will be nominated by IDOM and Festival’s supporters. The Committee will select the Festival screenings in advance on the basis of their relevancy (a movie will be selected if it illustrates frequent violations of human rights in the world that are also encountered nationally), quality, originality and length. The list of selected films will be available ahead in time on the Festival’s Facebook page and in distributed leaflets. The Festival’s schedule will be also approved by the Committee members.
IDOM’s Project team will add Romanian language subtitles to all selected films. Russian subtitles will be added for the audience from Comrat (UTA Gagauzia) and Tiraspol (Transnistria) region.
