Montréal’s ‘La fête du Clip’ is back for a second edition on April, 3rd as part of the ‘Courts d’un soir’ festival! Montréal’s ‘La Fête du clip’ is the festival of the emerging video clip ! Wide screen broadcasting of the best Quebec’s independent music videos of the moment ! --------- Producing a quality video clip requires a lot of hard work, creativity, time and talent for an artist, but also means oftenly limited resources! Moreover, the instantness of social media and the perpetual creation of contents give a very limited exposure of these productions over time. Nowadays, there are festivals dedicated to feature films, short films, animated movies enabling the works to meet the public but a very few of them are dedicated to the video clip genre. It’s therefore in order to highlight this unique artistic genre that ‘La fête du clip’ has been introduced in Montréal (Canada) and Lyon (France). This festival is the occasion for the video clips to be watched in real screening conditions, on wide screen, and to be viewed by an audience made of curious people, music and emerging artists lovers, who like to attend festivals and concerts. ‘La Fête du clip’, what is it ? ‘La Fête du clip’ is the occasion to make artists, producers and an extensive audience come together during a festive night dedicated to the screening of video clips on wide screen! A selection of fifteen or so musically and visually diversified video clips is screened during these events meant to share and discover. Artists and producers are invited to present their work and the creative process of each project and to answer the questions of the audience. After the screening, the audience and the jury vote for their favorite video clips in order to reward and encourage the producers and artists. Awards are handed over the laureates to support them financially and to give them additional resources to develop their future projects.
