A home for mind-breakers, trend-setters, razor-walkers, loose-wires, truth-talkers, trailblazers and envelope-pushers, Fantastic Film Festival Australia comes to Lido Cinemas (VIC) and Ritz Cinemas (NSW) from April 16. Offering a distinct perspective on genre and alternative cinema, FFFA marries (un)guilty pictorial pleasures with subversive storytelling that hacks away at conventions, unearthing core truths that are typically shied away from: from hard-hitting sociocultural commentary, to unique perspectives on what's widely taken for granted. We program films with a fantastic attitude and ambition, a questioning eye and a creative flair. These are films that challenge the status quo and convention, communicate bold ideas and are great achievements in style, tone and atmosphere.
