The Flint Youth Film Festival is an event that recognizes the work of student filmmakers in middle school, high school, and colleges inside Genesee County, across the state of Michigan, as well as the United States.
Our Festival consists of two events. Our Screenings occur on a Saturday afternoon where we showcase the accepted entries of that year's Festival. Our Awards Ceremony occurs the following Thursday where we celebrate the year's film and award prizes to the top entrants. After the Awards Ceremony guests are invited to join us for a reception where they can mingle and network with all the filmmakers in attendance.
Due to concerns and uncertainties with COVID-19, the screening and awards ceremony will now be digital.
The Flint Youth Film Festival is sponsored by Mott Community College, the Flint Institute of Arts, iMichigan Productions, University of Michigan-Flint, the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs, the James A. Welch Foundation, the A.G. Bishop Charitable Trust, Share Arts Genesee, and the Michigan Humanities Council.
