Gateway Film Festival

High school and college-aged youth with a passion for filmmaking are invited to submit their short films to the Gateway Film Festival, at Pacific University Oregon. This is the festival’s second year, and we aim to capture the love of filmmaking through the eyes of young makers. The goal of our festival is to give young filmmakers a voice and allow their art to enrich our community. We are student run and organized event. Our festival started as a class at Pacific University, a small liberal arts college In Oregon. Guided by professors, students created the festival from concept to execution. The Gateway Film Festival provides not only opportunities for young filmmakers to screen their work, but also provides the student festival organizers an opportunity to engage in experiential learning, leadership, civic engagement, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The festival is supported by the Pacific University Media Arts Department and is co-sponsored by many other university departments and clubs, and community partners.
