From April 29th thru May 2nd, 2021, Georgetown University Film Festival returns to showcase the best in short form filmmaking.
Since 2015, The Georgetown University Film Festival has been orchestrated by a group of student film-lovers as a celebration of film -- both novice and acclaimed. Our mission is to provide a global platform for student, emerging, and professional filmmakers to exhibit captivating work in the short format. Through this platform, we hope to introduce audiences to new work from members of their own communities and continue to support outstanding filmmakers.
We believe that film can be healing, transformative, and a catalyst for discussion. As student film-lovers living in the age of COVID, we have missed the camaraderie of movie going just as much as late night conversations at the library. The barrier is no more as we go virtual! Join us for a fresh take on the film festival -- reimagined to an online environment but nevertheless rooted in community, empathy, and hope. We support passionate filmmakers, avid film-goers, and all those interested in exploring what movies mean to us.
Submissions close on March 26. There are no entry fees. We look forward to viewing your work!
