Horizons Short Films Programme 2020 – Call For Short Films Deadline: End of February This call for entries is for a short films programme curated by Lost Land Film Festival that will be shown as part of the Horizons Festival. This opportunity is aimed at filmmakers from refugee backgrounds. Collaborating artists may be from other backgrounds, as long as the work is refugee-led. Horizons Festival celebrates international arts and global culture and runs alongside Refugee Week. The festival features a week long programme of theatre, film, art, performance, workshops and debate showcasing the artistic talent of refugees and migrants and exploring themes related to Human Rights and migration. The festival takes place at HOME, Manchester and is co-produced with Community Arts North West (CAN). The third Horizons Festival will take place between 13 and 20 June 2020. For 2020 we will be highlighting issues around Destitution and the Home Office’s Hostile Environment policy. Artists may wish to respond to this theme. However CAN and HOME are interested in a diverse range of work and different sources of artistic inspirations.
