Announcement July 20, 2015: On behalf of the Mayor’s Film Task Force, the Houston Arts Alliance, Houston First Corporation, Houston Film Commission, Women in Film & Television/Houston, and Houston Cinema Arts Society, we congratulate the recipient of the 2015 Houston Filmmaker’s Grant. The 2015 Houston Filmmaker Grant is awarded to writer, producer, director, Mr. Taylor Gahm and his narrative feature film, "Be Not Afraid" (formerly "The Messengers"): http://benotafraidmovie.com/ The award is a US $30,000 matching funds grant for a Houston, TX filmmaker whose work shows excellence and promise in long form narrative storytelling. ---------------------- The Houston Filmmaker Grant *For City of Houston Residents Only, initiated by the Mayor’s Film Task Force, is funded by the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance, Houston First Corporation, and Houston Film Commission, and administered in cooperation with Women in Film & Television Houston, and Houston Cinema Arts Society, to support and stimulate the growth of local filmmakers and narrative feature-length commercial motion picture production with films designed to be marketed and sold to a mass audience. The award is a US$30,000 matching funds grant for a Houston, TX filmmaker whose previous work shows excellence and promise in long-form narrative storytelling to be used for the production of a feature-length motion picture.
