We welcome you to the 2nd Edition of International Gujarati Film festival (IGFF) – Celebrating Excellence in Gujarati Cinema.
Vadilal International Film Festival held between August 3rd to August 5th 2018 successfully in 8K Cinema, New Jersey. The three-day film festival was armed with a singular goal of promoting cinema from the state of Gujarat on a scale that was never seen or heard of before. As Festival director Mr Umesh Shukla & Founder Mr. Kaushal Acharya when announced their plans at press conference at Ahmedabad, The Media & Gujarati Film industry responded very well on overall concept & supported such big scale event. There were more than 4500 attendees during 3 days of the festival, Screening of 23 films, including 12 Feature film in competition, 4 Feature Films as Special Screening, 3 Documentary Films and 4 Short Films. It made the Gujarati Filmmakers realize that there is an immense group of onlookers and devotees abroad who are interested in watching Gujarati films.
IGFF is a film festival that aims at the promotion of the Gujarati Culture & Cinema on a wider scale. The film festival serves the community of Indian regional cinema by putting forth the immense talent and help attribute splendour to the populace which has long been under-appreciated. Through a series of awards, the festival also provides filmmakers with the opportunity to indulge with a professional network and help grow their know-how of the international cinematic trends.
IGFF has one goal, to show that a Gujarati Cinema has the potential of creating scripts and movies which can stand shoulder to shoulder with any other movie industry.
This year Vadilal IGFF has introduced Special Category, Short Film on IDEALS of Mahatma to Celebrate 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. A Short Film competition invites Mature / Amateur filmmakers to make Short Films (maximum 10 minutes) based on “The Ideals of Mahatma Gandhi”.
