As one of the Cultural Arts venues of Summer Celebration, Indiana Black Expo supports emerging and independent filmmakers by providing a platform for original film works to be screened by avid film lovers. The collective voice of African Americans and other minorities is often lost or simply overlooked. Promoting creative expression and film helps to strengthen our voice and understanding of each other. IBE’s Film Festival Competition invites Adults (18+) and Youth (18-) to submit projects (15 minutes or less) in length. We have two categories this year, DOCUMENTARY and NARRATIVE. All submissions center around the theme of Celebrating “Black Excellence” Finalists will be notified by May 31st and have their project screened on July 8th at IMA’s Toby Theater. Winners will be announced on July 8th.
