CURRENT THEME: WINTER / CHRISTMAS / GENERAL KINDNESS! We are looking for short films, documentaries, animations and features on: - The Environment - Winter - Christmas - People being kind to one another, to animals or to the planet! Please DO NOT submit your film if it doesn't follow one of those themes. Inheritance is a festival in Belfast which began in April 2018. The overall theme of the activities looked at how we have been shaped by our city and our hyper local environment and to consider what the legacy will be that we leave to the next generation. All ages took part in the activities and they came from disability organisations, women’s centres, community groups, Extinction Rebellion, Youth Strike for Climate Change and other youth and older people groups. The arts and environment projects were participatory and concentrated on waste management, consumption, climate change and the elusiveness of accountability. In March and July 2021, Inheritance expanded to a film festival on Northern Visions, Belfast's local TV station, serving over 300,000 households. We wanted to host live events, too, but had to postpone these because of COVID-19. We are building on the success of Inheritance on TV and will host our next edition in December. If it is safe to do so, we will go ahead with live events as well. The TV film festival will also be livestreamed on our website, and screened on Latest TV, Brighton's local TV station, which serves over 400,000 households in the Brighton and Hove area. If your film is accepted into our TV festival, it will be seen by thousands more than at a conventional film festival! Please ensure you have all the rights to your film (including music) before submitting.
