Insólito: Festival Internacional de Cine de Terror y Fantasía

Insólito is the first Festival in Peru dedicated to genre cinema, with an emphasis on horror and fantasy. Our mission is to motivate audiences to appreciate and vindicate this type of filmmaking, as well as support independent film projects. We believe that genre cinema has the power to move and inspire us, as well as provide a window through which we can interpret our own reality. Insólito is also firmly committed to providing a platform for new and diverse voices in horror and fantasy filmmaking to reach wide-ranging audiences eager to discover them. And so begins another journey into the unknown. Insólito: International Horror & Fantasy Film Festival, will have its fourth edition from 23 to 26 September 2021. Due to the current conditions caused by the covid-19 that limit the development of face-to-face activities, this edition will be virtual through the use of digital platforms for the exhibition of films and the development of meetings. The positive reception from both specialized press and general audiences over its first three editions is enough for Insólito to renew its commitment to presenting the best of current international genre cinema: horror, fantasy, science fiction, exploitation and everything else that challenges and subverts more conventional forms of making and watching movies. --- Insólito es el primer festival del Perú dedicado al cine de género, poniendo especial énfasis en el terror y la fantasía. Busca reivindicar esta forma de hacer cine, inculcando su apreciación y fomentando la realización de proyectos independientes. Creemos que el cine de género no ha perdido el poder de conmovernos, inspirarnos y al mismo tiempo ofrecernos lecturas e interpretaciones de nuestra propia realidad. El Festival Insólito tiene también como misión ser una ventana de exhibición para nuevas y diversas voces del terror y la fantasía, acercándolas a nuevas audiencias, ávidas de conocerlas. Comienza otro viaje hacia lo fantástico y desconocido. Insólito: Festival Internacional de Cine de Terror y Fantasía anuncia la convocatoria para su cuarta edición, que se llevará a cabo del 23 al 26 de septiembre de 2021. Debido a las condiciones actuales ocasionadas por el covid-19 que limitan el desarrollo de actividades presenciales, la presente edición será de manera virtual mediante el uso de plataformas digitales para la exhibición de las películas y el desarrollo de conversatorios. Las primeras tres ediciones del Festival obtuvieron buenos comentarios por parte de público y crítica; esto no hace más que renovar el compromiso de Insólito con mostrar a los espectadores peruanos el mejor cine de género que se viene realizando a nivel mundial: terror, fantasía, ciencia ficción, exploitation y todo aquello que desafíe las maneras más convencionales de ver y hacer cine.
