Ischia Film Festival

The Ischia Film Festival is an open competition for films and documentaries regardless of language: fiction, documentary, animation. The festival is particularly focused on the location and on the enhancement of the cultural and landscape identity of the territories chosen for the filming. The event takes place at the Aragonese Castle, a fortification that stands on the rock in the middle of the sea of Ischia, the enchanting island of southern Italy. All events take place in the evening allowing the protagonists of the festival to experience the island and its beautiful spas during the day. Shortly before sunset, the stars invited to the festival (members of the jury or winners of the special prizes of the festival) together with all the authors of the selected works and the accredited press, meet at the castle for a cocktail, waiting for the dark, necessary to project in the 5 historic locations under the stars. During the evening, the various guests meet the audience before the screenings, then dine on a panoramic terrace of the castle and have the opportunity to meet other professionals, create synergies, establish agreements and probably create new audiovisual projects. Among the big names passed to the festival: Abel Ferrara, Claudia Cardinale, Vittorio Storaro, John Turturro, Abbas Kiarostami, Peter Greenaway, Mario Monicelli, Margarethe von Trotta, Carlo Rambaldi, Gabriele Salvatores, Jean Sorel, Carlo Verdone, Bille August, Carlo Lizzani, Pupi Avati, Valerio Mastandrea, Krzysztof Zanussi, Giuliano Montaldo, Sergio Rubini, Marco D'Amore. L'ischia film festival è un concorso aperto a lungometraggi e documentari indipendentemente dal linguaggio: finzione, documentario, animazione. Il festival è particolarmente focalizzato sulla location e sulla valorizzazione dell'identità culturale e paesaggistica dei territori scelti per le riprese. L'evento si svolge al Castello Aragonese, una fortificazione che sorge sulla roccia in mezzo al mare di Ischia, l'incantevole isola del sud Italia. Tutti gli eventi si svolgono di sera permettendo ai protagonisti del festival di vivere l'isola e le sue meravigliose terme durante le ore diurne. Poco prima del tramonto le star ospiti al festival (membri della giuria o vincitori dei premi speciali del festival) insieme a tutti gli autori delle opere selezionate e alla stampa accreditata, si ritrovano al castello per un cocktail, in attesa del buio, necessario a proiettare nelle 5 storiche location sotto le stelle. Nel corso della serata i vari ospiti, incontrano il pubblico prima delle proiezioni, per poi cenare su una terrazza panoramica del castello e avere modo di incontrare altri addetti ai lavori, creare sinergie, stabilire accordi e probabilmente creare nuovi progetti audiovisivi.
