Justice Film Festival

Following our first ‘virtual’ film festival in 2020, our 10th annual Justice Film Festival presented by Docs/ology returns to The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture in New York City March 9-12, 2022. As always this four-day event will consist of over 30 selected features and shorts including world premiere screenings, content from studios and emerging filmmakers, as well as “Behind The Lens” talkback sessions with filmmakers from around the world. The Justice Film Festival continues its mission of inspiring justice seekers by presenting films of unexpected courage and redemption that are diverse in their issues and geography. JFF director and founder Andy Peterson says, “Our virtual event in 2020 allowed us to share the Justice Film Festival experience with patrons from across the US as well as university students on several prominent campuses. This coming year we are looking forward to getting back to our home in New York while continuing to shine a light on justice to people everywhere. Given the divisions that exist in our country it is our hope to participate in creating space for unifying conversations that give voice to the important issues and causes that can challenge and inspire us.” One of the ways we’re committed to this ideal is by continuing to feature films from a diverse group of filmmakers who are thoughtfully exploring the truth about the human condition with excellence, artistry and substance. In 2020 more than 50% of our filmmakers were women, and likewise more than 50% identified as black, indigenous and people of color. We look forward to building on this tradition in 2022.
