"Your Shorts are Showing" (2-15 minute submissions)
Located in Lake Placid, New York, in the heart of the Adirondacks, the Lake Placid Film Festival (LPFF), now celebrating its 20th anniversary, will once again present a "LIVE" dynamic selection of features, documentaries, shorts, and student films.
Throughout the years, the LPFF has featured and hosted academy award-winning directors such as Guillermo Del Toro, John Sayles, Milos Forman, Norman Jewison and Martin Scorcese. We have also hosted actors including Debra Winger, Kyra Sedgwick, John Favreau, Matthew Modine, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Cliff Robertson, Peter Riegert, Steve Buscemi, Tony Shalhoub, Patricia Clarkson, Campbell Scott, William Defoe, and others.
In celebration of our 20th festival, we have crafted a spectacular star-filled event starting with our "Meet and Greet" film industry reception. Enjoy four days of screening features and shorts and incredible film industry professional seminars including:

This year, we will again be featuring our dynamic "Your Shorts are Showing" short film competition, including a special screening of our TOP TEN 2020 "Your Shorts are Showing" winners and finalists.
This is where you come in - We want to showcase your amazing short films and invite you to submit your film(s) for competition in our 2021 festival to be judged by our experienced panel of judges. We will select 10 "Finalists" from each of our 4 categories. The short films may be from 2 minutes to 15 minutes in length in any of our 4 categories. All film submitters receive a complimentary all-session pass including all festival seminars ($145 value).
The winners of the competition will be invited to join Adirondack Film's "Featured Filmmakers Series" in the winter of 2022. This virtual series, highlights one short film a week and is followed by an interview with the director and a film industry moderator.
As a special treat: We are attempting to partner with the GoldennetworkTV network on Roku TV platform to provide the opportunity to have all Finalists' films featured on this platform following the festival, to viewers worldwide.

Eric P. Granger- Award-winning screenwriter and founder of Aracari Films, Costa Rica Locations and Head of The Adirondack Film Commission..
Nelson Page - Motion picture exhibitor for 33 years and owned and President of the Barrymore FilmCenter which is due to open in 2021.
Charlene Trotter - Founder and co-director of the Tri-State Film Festival, and creator of an award-winning radio talk show in NY, and marketer /promoter of film-related organizations throughout the northeast.
Paul Frederick - Founder of Paul Frederick Productions with 20 years experience in film production.
Carla Eilo - Administrator of the Adirondack Film Society.
Wendy Poole - Producer, Select Filmmakers’ Series, Adirondack Film Society.
Anthony James Faure - A French and Venezuelan Filmmaker based in New York, Anthony works as a Producer, 1st Assistant Director and Production Manager, as well as a Director. His debut feature "Kids with Guns", shot in France, is touring International Film Festivals.
Mark Carter - Attendee of the past two editions of the LPFF, Mark is a film buff who loves independent film and the classics.
Griffin Kelly - A journalist who's previously covered the LPFF for local newspapers. Griffin loves all kinds of films, and he appreciates the Adirondack Film Society's mission to share great, independent cinema with the North Country and beyond.
