Liverpool Film Festival is excited to welcome submissions for one of the fasting growing independent film festivals in the world, taking place November 2022. As always LIVIFF is looking to find the most bold and inventive stories that the independent film community has to offer, to screen in the birthplace of the Beatles and a city of rich culturally creative history and passion. With the ambition to match the city’s cool and artistic identity, LIVIFF is an international film festival with credibility and integrity and is a proud associate of both The Manchester film festival and Oxford Film Festival. LIVIFF2022 will welcome the best filmmakers from around the world to showcase their work on stunning cinema screens that will provide the perfect platform to see the films how they are meant to be seen. After COVID-19 forced the 2020 and 2021 event to move to a fully virtual festival LIVIFF is excited to get back to normal in 2022. As it stands all films for the 2022 edition will be screened in a cinema with filmmakers being invited to attend and take part in post-screening Q&A’s, networking events and after parties. Of course, this may change given the current situation. LIVIFF is a festival that takes pride in providing a platform for independent filmmakers to showcase their work to the public, fellow filmmakers, and industry professionals. LIVIFF looks to create a welcoming event that allows attending filmmakers the chance to get their art seen and their individual voices heard. Adapting to the challenges faced by COVID-19 the festival's move to completely virtual did not hinder LIVIFF's goal of getting filmmakers voices heard. Films screened online to LIVIFF's ever growing audience and although the festival was unable to host in person Q&A's LIVIFF was able to give filmmakers the chance discuss their work LIVE through the internet. That being said we can't wait to get back to our cinema partner venues of the Everyman and Odeon and return to the full swing of the true physical indie film fest experience in late 2022, where our exciting new RAW MUSIC VIDEO INITIATIVE will be launched in and around this magnificent city's venues. For a small taste of what to expect in 2022 please take a look at the photos and videos from previous festivals on the LIVIFF website where specially invited guests have included Otmara Marrero, Edi Gathegi, Shia LaBeouf, Stephen Graham, Oscar Isaac and many more. In 2022 all will be invited once again to celebrate the official selection and indulge in world and UK premieres, after parties, filmmaker talks, and a closing awards that will reward excellence and originality by a high-profile jury of film industry professionals. With UK Distribution representation and national press attendance at a passionate festival for great lasting stories, the Liverpool Film Festival 2022 will be one to enjoy and remember. RAW MUSIC VIDEO INITIATIVE In 2022, The Liverpool Film Festival is looking for raw music talent for a new exciting project… Felix Gary Gray and Jay Z, Spike Jonze and The Beastie Boys, Matthew Rolsten and Beyonce', Thom Zimny and Bruce Springsteen…There are so many examples of top musical artists who find their creative soul mates in music video directors and eventually build up a professional relationship through their enormous relative successes, but why not have that relationship form at the beginning of a music artist’s career for a lasting understanding of what the artist and their music stand for on both an audio visual and overall artistic level. That’s what we are looking to achieve through LIVIFF’s RAW MUSIC VIDEO INITIATIVE, where we will search the globe for the best raw talent in music, whether it be a soloist or band from any musical genre, and then team them with the best indie music video directors that the world has to offer. Through open submissions via our FilmFreeway platform our panel of programmers will put forward a selection of artists to perform, all expenses covered, at a famous Liverpool music venue in November, where a select group of award-winning music video directors will be present, to choose which artist, they would like to work with in producing the artist’s music video of their performed single. From there, with the help of LIVIFF’s co production grant, the director will then shoot and produce the video in the music Mecca of Liverpool and deliver, not only the very best audio and visual content for the artists to showcase their talents to record label execs and modern-day exposure opportunities alike, but also to strike a lasting and passionate artistic partnership that will enrich both the director’s and artist’s careers for years to come. For more information please visit our festival home page www.liviff.com ... So, if you think that you are that music artist or artists and or know someone who has the raw talent to acquire this unique opportunity then submit your home-made to camera video footage of your performance via the new Raw Music Category on the right hand drop tab on this FilmFreeway festival page. * Please note the admin fee of $20.00/Euro17.00/£15.00 is to cover programming and platform costs and there will be no increase in this charge at any of the festival’s submission fee deadlines. The selected artists will receive free travel costs to perform at the festival in Liverpool and a fully produced music video funded by the LIVIFF Raw Music Video Grant, of which the copyright will be owned by the designated Music Video Director and the selected Artist. To submit you will need to set up a free of charge FilmFreeway Filmmaker account.
