Animated Dreams is the historical animation festival associated with the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia. Its history spans 1999–2016, beginning with a programme of animated shorts shown before feature films. In 2001 it develops into a separate competitive festival under the name Animated Action, with an international jury and the Wooden Wolf Grand Prix. Its programmes include international and student animation competitions, alongside non-competitive screenings.
The last edition takes place in Tallinn on 16–20 November 2016. In 2017 Animated Dreams and the live-action short film festival Sleepwalkers unite as PÖFF Shorts. The linked website is the successor festival’s official historical overview.
