Lowestoft Film Festival

Lowestoft Film Festival is a brand new multi-venue film festival set in Britain's most easterly coastal Town of Lowestoft, championing local independent film and brought to you by a community production company called Sunrise Studios run by young people for young people. Award winners of all of our main categories will all receive a trophy and certificate, and additional prizes will be announced throughout the year. We are committed to ensuring greater access for as wide an audience as possible, in a region currently lacking opportunities for engagement with independent British and International film. The festival is a celebration of independent film, that actively supports and champions filmmaking on the east coast and most importantly in Lowestoft. Through our open submissions process, it supports local filmmakers at the heart of our festival, as well as accepting submissions from those regionally and across the globe, providing a platform for new and existing talent, and showcase their amazing work in Lowestoft. The Lowestoft Film Festival is an exciting place to discover new emerging talent and those talented creatives that haven’t yet been discovered. It's a key annual event for emerging and established filmmakers from all over the world and we support local keen writers wanting to step foot into the film industry through exciting opportunities for those who go on to win a short film script category. Lowestoft Film Festival actively promotes films from any filmmaker, creative or producer to the general public to enable them to view something different regardless of how big or small their budget for creating shorts, documentaries or a feature film may be. The Festival through Sunrise Studios will both at the annual festival and its ancillary events, make available screenings of films that the public would otherwise have been unaware of, or be unable to access. The Festival will also actively encourage the public to become more involved in creating and producing films, through cultural enrichment, talks and film-themed events.
