Misfit Film Festival developed out of the craziness of Misfit Con, an annual conference held in Fargo, North Dakota for misfits, troublemakers and rabble-rousers. Misfit Film was created to celebrate the misfits of the world who are working in the medium of film. What is Misfit? These events and many more projects are brought together under the banner of Misfit Incorporated, a small company with huge dreams. We have worked on projects all over the world and our ethos is about living with intention and doing work that matters. What is the Misfit Film Festival? The Misfit Film Festival is the first ever festival dedicated to films made with intention. It’s a curated stage for audacious filmmakers who seek to engage their audience with original work that nobody else could make. If you’re looking for half-baked, mediocre, unremarkably average films, please politely stop reading. This year, screenings of winning films will be weaved into a weekend of art, theatre, food, music and film the weekend directly following Misfit Con. Why Fargo? Fargo is a geographical misfit. It is town of artists and craftspeople, burgeoning with creativity in the middle of the Midwest. It’s the perfect place to host this beautiful Film Festival in tandem with Misfit Con.
