MUMBAI INTERNATIONAL CULT FILM FESTIVAL

𝐌𝐈𝐂𝐅𝐅 𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐀 - ''A Celebration of Art, Emotions and the everlasting magic of the Movies" So far all film festivals were by the elites, for the elites. We have taken the initiative to open it for young, creative, small town, middle class filmmakers from around the world. 𝙁𝙄𝙉𝘼𝙇 𝘿𝙀𝘼𝘿𝙇𝙄𝙉𝙀 𝘿𝙄𝙎𝘾𝙊𝙐𝙉𝙏 : 𝐌𝐈𝐂𝐅𝐅𝐃𝐈𝐒𝟑𝟎 𝐌𝐈𝐂𝐅𝐅 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟎 𝐈𝐍 𝐀 𝐍𝐔𝐓𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐋: MICFF is the only festival in India which gone completely live at the physical venue (PVR Cinemas, Juhu) at the heart of the Bollywood capital Mumbai on 7th & 8th Dec'20 by strictly following all the guidelines and protocols issued by the Government of India. Ace lyricist, writer, playback singer, actor and 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗞𝗶𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗿𝗲 & 𝗛𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗞𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘆𝗮 the 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿 & 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 '𝗦𝗵𝘂𝗯𝗵 '𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗭𝘆𝗮𝗱𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗱𝗵𝗮𝗮𝗻' marked their presence at 𝗠𝗜𝗖𝗙𝗙 𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗔 𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟴𝘁𝗵' 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟬 Actors and 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐎𝐟 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚 alumnus 𝐑𝐚𝐣𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐯, 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐣𝐰𝐚𝐫, 𝐆𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐣𝐚𝐥𝐢 𝐊𝐮𝐥𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢, 𝐆𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐮𝐭𝐭, 𝐑𝐚𝐣𝐢𝐯 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫, 𝐊𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐚𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭 & 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐮 𝐃𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚 were also a huge support at MICFF. This successful screening and huge participation by the filmmakers across the world reflects that cinema is more alive than ever. It remains unique, irreplaceable. Mumbai International Cult Film Festival (MICFF INDIA) is a non-profit annual live screening film festival established in 2019 by its founder, renowned Theatre/ Film Actress-Writer & alumnus of National School Of Drama (NSD) Sunita Rajwar. MICFF INDIA is dedicated to nurturing filmmakers and audiences, and to celebrating the power of a good story. The festival focuses on the people, ideas, technology, skills and artistry behind filmmaking and provides both entertaining and educational opportunities to the public and filmmakers from all over the world. The Mission of this project is to discover exceptional art-house cult cinema from all over the world. The project has been initiated to provide a supportive platform for the exceptionally talented independent cult filmmakers who have taken the risk of making offbeat films. Another important aspect of this project is to introduce more people to cult cinema and develop a permanent audience base. What we’re looking for? Prolific art-house shortfilms, which can be in the form of narrative (fiction) or documentary (non-fiction). The festival’s aim is to provide a platform for filmmakers who don’t necessarily have a large budget, but a vision and an important story to tell. Through our careful selection process our goal is to showcase a wide variety of genres and styles to cinema fans and fellow international filmmakers. The MICFF is an annual live screening event that will take place on 6th -7th December 2021 at PVR Juhu (A Great film venue located in the Bollywood capital & the city of dreams, Mumbai). Officially Nominated Top 3 Films from each Award Categories will be screened to a live audience at the Theatre and will compete with each other for MICFF INDIA - 2021 Best of the category Awards. The agenda of MICFF is to make sure that Independent cinema remains fashionable and commercially viable. MICFF INDIA in a unique festival of cultural carnival iced with a film festival where films are awarded on merit by the specially appointed Micff India Jury. MICFF 2021 is honoured and privileged to have an eminent jury panel headed by prominent Indian Theatre & Flim personalities: 𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐍𝐀 𝐆𝐔𝐏𝐓𝐀 : Known for her work in both art-house and commercial films, she won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for playing a young widow in Woh Chokri (1994). She received Filmfare,IIFA & Lions Gold Award for her breakthrough performance in the film 'Badhaai Ho' (2019). Neena Gupta has made appearances in several international films, such as Gandhi (1982),The Deceivers (1988), Mirza Ghalib (1989) In Custody (1993), and Cotton Mary (1999). She also made an impression in Indian parallel cinema such as Mandi (1983), Rihaee (1988), Drishti (1990), Suraj Ka Satvan Ghoda (1992) & Cult Classic 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro' (1983). 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐍 𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐑𝐀 : Chandan Arora is a renowned director and editor in the Indian Film industry. He edited successful films like, Krish 3, Kedarnath, Ki & Ka, Fandry, Tere Bin Laden, Cheeni Kum, Filmistaan, Qareeb Qareeb Single, Pad Man, Mission Mangal to name a few. He started as an assistant director in 1990, and later worked with director Ram Gopal Varma, as an editor in films like, Jungle (2000), Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya (2001), Road (2002), and Company (2003). In 2003, Chandan won IIFA & Filmfare Award for Best Editing for the film 'Company'. Eventually He made his Directorial debut with, Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon in 2003 and directed critically acclaimed movies like,' Meri Patni Aur Woh' (2005) and 'Striker' (2010). 𝐀𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐓 𝐊𝐀𝐔𝐑 : Having won four ITA Awards & Zee Awards for best Actress, Achint Kaur is a seasoned professional who has 51 credits to her name in Film and Television projects including Dan Sefton's, 'The Good Karma Hospital'. She also recently appeared in the play "2 to Tango, 3 to Jive", Written & Directed by National award winner, screen award, and IIFA award winner Bollywood actor Saurabh Shukla. 𝐒𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐀 𝐑𝐀𝐉𝐖𝐀𝐑 : A National School of Drama alumnus (1994-97), Sunita Rajwar also worked in NSD repertory company. She is a seasoned professional who has career spans over 40 TV & Web-Series,15 films and more than 20 major stage productions. Sunita Rajwar is also a writer well known for critically acclaimed movie, 'Striker'. As an actress her recent films are 'Kedarnath', 'Stree', 'Bala' and 'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan'. The jury will judge films in 15 Competition Categories at the inaugural edition of Mumbai International Cult Film Festival.
