International Vegan Film Festival

The International Vegan Film Festival (IVFF) is a trailblazing event dedicated to celebrating the vegan ideal: a healthier, compassionate, environmentally friendly lifestyle that can be achieved through the consumption of plants and animal-free alternatives. As the number of people who call themselves vegan grows exponentially around the world (a 500% increase in the last three years in the US), there is a huge appetite for information and insights into all aspects of vegan life: from the ethics of animal farming to the environmental and health benefits that come with a shift to plant-based eating. The International Vegan Film Festival, the world's first and largest vegan film festival, will host its fourth annual Festival in Ottawa at The Chamber Theatre at Ben Franklin Place on October 30th, 2021. It will not only showcase the talents of extraordinary filmmakers, but serve as a crucial link connecting the global community of vegans and inspiring non-vegans to make kinder, and more informed food choices. VIRTUAL SCREENING With the spread of COVID-19 and the resulting international quarantine, the International Vegan Film Festival will once again hold an online virtual screening of selected films from October 9-23, 2021 making all of the festival’s films available to viewers from around the globe. WORLD TOUR Films entered in the competition will also be considered for inclusion in our World Tour program that as the potential to reach a global audience. Short films are particularly popular for the programming flexibility they provide. If you are submitting a longer film into the competition, you may wish to also enter a shorter version for both Festival and World Tour consideration (special edit or excerpt, 5 to 20 minutes long is typically best). If your film is selected for the World Tour, our team will contact you to arrange a separate licensing agreement.
