Outfest Los Angeles LGBTQ+ Film Festival
Outfest Los Angeles LGBTQ+ Film Festival is the Los Angeles festival of Outfest, a non-profit organisation founded by UCLA students in 1982 that screens, supports and preserves LGBTQ+ film. The festival presents narrative and documentary features and short films from the United States and other countries, with gala screenings, honorary awards and community events. Outfest also runs artist development programmes for emerging filmmakers and, with the UCLA Film & Television Archive, the Outfest UCLA Legacy Project, a collection of LGBTQ+ moving images.
The last edition took place 13–23 July 2023, based at the Directors Guild of America in West Hollywood, with more than 170 titles from over 25 countries. Outfest paused its programming in 2024; it has since returned with OutfestNEXT, a separate four-day screening event first held in November 2025.
